Calgary Economic Development and Edmonton Screen Industries Office invite qualified firms to submit a proposal for Labour Market Survey and Work Action Plan for Film and Television.

The Alberta Government has recently committed to increased investment in the growth of Alberta’s screen-based production sector through added investment in the Film and Television Tax Credit, and easing of per-project caps, opening Alberta’s filming opportunities to large budget features and television series. These recent incentive changes to the film and television tax credit in Alberta has resulted in immediate influx in production interest and activity in the province.

Labour Market Survey and Work Action Plan for Film and Television will provide a pathway to ensure that increased production activity and increased government investment can and will translate into to well-paying and stable jobs for Albertans. The labour market survey will deliver a comprehensive profile of Alberta’s Below-the-Line film and television production workforce and a critical understanding of the current employment landscape to industry partners and Government. The work action plan will convene and engage industry stakeholders to develop targeted tactics with the goal to build and grow Alberta’s labour force to meet growing industry demand.

Proposals must be received via email by 16:00 MST, August 24, 2021 to: Hubba Khatoon, Economist.
