WeWork has announced it’s expansion to Calgary in the fall of 2019.
“Typically, when WeWork enters a new market, we start with one location to build the foundation and then scale. When it came to Calgary, however, we saw an epicenter of innovation and knew we not only had to be here, but enter in a big way,” said Brianna Iverson, WeWork Community Director, Canada (West).
As a global company with a hyper-local playbook that focuses on reimagining the work environment and building community, WeWork provides more than 460,000 members around the world with workspace, local connectivity, and services through both physical and digital offerings. WeWork currently has more than 485 physical locations in 105 cities and 28 countries around the world with members working in 89 industries.
“We were thrilled to work closely with WeWork to expand its global network of workspaces to Calgary’s growing innovation ecosystem and are confident it will help accelerate our transformation to the new economy, said Mary Moran, President and Chief Executive Officer, Calgary Economic Development. “WeWork is a company that values creators, self-starters, challenging convention and plainly states ‘We get stuff done and we get it done well.’ They are a perfect fit for Calgary and the values we embrace, and we look forward to welcoming them to their new home.”
WeWork is one of more than 40 companies that have been attracted, retained or expanded their operations in Calgary to date this year.
