Calgary offers Amazon turnkey real estate solutions to its HQ2 challenge.
On behalf of the City of Calgary and the Calgary Region, Calgary Economic Development will be submitting a bid in response to the Request for Proposal (RFP) that Amazon issued for its second corporate headquarters (HQ2) on Sept.7, 2017.
We invite land owners, landlords, developers, REITS, and pension funds to identify select properties within their portfolios that meet or exceed the criteria established by Amazon in their RFP for inclusion in our bid.
Calgary Economic Development is not conducting site selection on behalf of Amazon. We are issuing a request for options and are seeking examples of possible scenarios that will be highlighted within our response.
Only properties that can deliver at least 500,000 square feet of contiguous office space will be considered. This process is designed to demonstrate potential opportunities and availability within Calgary and Region, and to showcase creative collaborations that address current needs and future expansion plans of this company.
Only a select number of options will be presented in the response on behalf of Calgary and Region but the goal is to demonstrate there is more than one option that is able to meet or exceed the criteria, thus positioning us favourably. If Calgary and Region are shortlisted, the possibility to present additional options may be explored by Amazon at its discretion.
