Calgary Economic Development on behalf of CED’s wholly owned subsidiary the Calgary Film Centre, released a Request for Qualifications on October 13, 2015, for the Calgary Film Centre Public Art Project.

This process is an Alberta-wide open call to artists.  The thrust of the Calgary Film Centre is to become a centre of innovation and excellence in the creative and digital media industries.

Currently, the film centre is constructing purpose-built sound stages that will accommodate all levels of indigenous and foreign productions, including those that tell Alberta stories. This signature space will consolidate leading edge activity, driving project and process development, as well as economic diversification throughout Alberta. The installation of Public Art at the site will further elevate and reinforce the intent and vision of this new and unprecedented infrastructure.

Submissions will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. MDT on October 30, 2015.
