Calgary’s innovative, tech-focused startup ecosystem – and the solutions its finding for some of the world’s biggest challenges – were on display at the 11th annual Launch Party.
Every year, Startup Calgary’s Launch Party brings together entrepreneurs, startups, business leaders and investors for a night of networking and community building.
The COVID-19 pandemic moved this year’s celebration of Calgary’s tech and innovation ecosystem to an online platform. More than 1,100 people registered for the event, and there was also a record number of applications from local companies hoping to be included on Launch Party’s list of 15 top up-and-coming Calgary tech startups.
This year, GoodLawyer took home the Alumni Choice Award. The People’s Choice Award, voted by those in attendance at Launch Party, was 8 Bit Cortex. Both companies earned prize packages that included a one-on-one session with Valhalla Angels founder Randy Thompson, an online self-guided social media or digital marketing certificate from the Social School, a six-month membership at Work Nicer, and more.
