Dr. Graham Lowe
President, The Graham Lowe Groupe Inc.

Dr. Graham Lowe is a leading expert on work. He is president of The Graham Lowe Group Inc., a workplace consulting and research firm, and a partner in Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. He also is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Alberta, where he had a distinguished academic career. His numerous publications include The Quality of Work: A People-Centered Agenda (Oxford University Press). He has extensive consulting experience and has given hundreds of talks and workshops on creating higher quality and more productive workplaces. Graham received the 2004 Canadian Workplace Wellness Pioneer Award

Dr. David Posen
Stress Management Expert

David Posen's dynamic lectures empower thousands of people to take control of their lives…and come out on top. His unique personal style, combining humour and practical analogies, helps unlock the mysteries of stress and wellness.
In 1985 Dr. Posen gave up his general practice to devote his time exclusively to stress management, lifestyle counselling and psychotherapy. He has spoken widely to education, government, business and professional groups across North America. His recent clients include some of North America’s most admired corporations such as American Express, Pfizer and Kraft.

He is the author of three best-selling books, Always Change a Losing Game, Staying Afloat When the Water Gets Rough and, most recently, The Little Book of Stress Relief, now in its seventh printing and translated into five languages. His magazine articles have appeared in Canadian Living and Readers Digest as well as several medical journals. He wrote a weekly column on stress and lifestyle management for a year on the popular website Canoe. David has appeared many times on TV and radio across Canada and has been quoted in many leading U.S. magazines such as Redbook, Cosmopolitan, McCall’s, Men’s Health and USA Weekend.

Joanne Stalinski
Calgary Health Region, Senior Vice President, Wellness
 

joined the Calgary Health Region’s Executive Team in 1999 and, now in the role of Senior Vice President, Wellness, leads the Region’s new Wellness Portfolio. Through the Portfolio, Joanne is responsible for focusing and coordinating the Region’s strategy and action plans toward enabling wellness – what people can do for themselves – and for each other – toward physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being. In fulfilling her responsibilities, Joanne works within the organization and with key external stakeholders to leverage the Region’s knowledge and skill in health toward formulating strategies, initiatives and alliances that make a difference in the health and wellness of our population and in the evolution of health services that support wellness. Joanne leads the team that supports the advancement of the Region’s strategy and wellness initiatives.

Joanne has held a variety of senior management positions in healthcare, including Director of Human Resources and Senior Human Resources Officer. During her tenure with the Executive of the Calgary Health Region, she has also held the positions of Vice President, People and Learning, and Vice President, Strategic Business Alliances. Joanne’s education includes a Master’s Degree in Social Work from McGill University and an MBA from the University of Calgary.

Joanne is an Adjunct Associate Professor with the University of Calgary and in 2005 was appointed to the Board of Governors of Bow Valley College. She is also a board member of Wordfest, and is an active member of the Calgary Chamber of Commerce Health Care Committee and Mount Royal College’s Integrative Health Institute Advisory Committee.
